Transportation Demand Management
Transportation Demand Management (TDM) refers to transportation strategies that improve travel through the more efficient use of our existing transportation system rather than building new roads or widening existing ones. Strategies include increasing the use of public transit, carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking, and telecommuting. Additional resources for TDM information are Transportation Management Associations (TMAs).

Bicycling and Bike Maps
Bicycling is a great commute and short trip alternative. Commuting by bike even just a day or two a week is a great way to save money, get some exercise and be kind to the environment. The District encourages and supports bicycling through the Bike and Pedestrian Program.
The Bike & Pedestrian Program coordinators meetings bring bike/ped coordinators and interested persons from Yolo and Solano counties together on a biannual basis to update the various agencies on the status of significant programs/projects in each jurisdiction. The members discuss issues, share ideas and information and network with the overall goal to promote bicycling and walking through development of a District and region wide bicycle, pedestrian and trails network.
Coordinated by the Yolo-Solano AQMD, the meetings are an avenue to encourage the use of the District's Clean Air Funds (CAF) and other sources of funding to assist in the implementation of the network. To obtain more information or to participate in the meetings, contact the district at 530-757-3650. Minutes from most recent meeting.
