Transit

Yolo and Solano Counties have extensive public transit networks, and connections to systems in Sacramento and the Bay Area are also available. Transit also happens to be affordable when compared to single-occupancy vehicle travel, particularly when commuters take advantage of monthly passes. Transit is also a cleaner option than driving a gas-powered vehicle on your own.

Local Service

Yolobus, Vacaville City Coach, Unitrans (Davis), and the Rio Vista Delta Breeze provide fixed route service within and between Yolo-Solano communities. Readi-Ride provides on-demand bus service within Dixon.

Intercity Service

Yolobus, SolanoExpress, and the Delta Breeze have additional routes connecting to regional commute hubs.

  • Yolobus connects Yolo County communities to downtown Sacramento and the Sacramento International Airport. In downtown Sacramento, commuters can connect to Sacramento Regional Transit bus and light rail lines. There is also an Amtrak station in downtown Sacramento.
  • SolanoExpress connects Vacaville to Dixon, Davis, downtown Sacramento and the Fairfield Transportation Center, a hub that runs buses to the Suisun City Amtrak station and multiple East Bay BART stations.
  • The Delta Breeze (Rio Vista) runs service to the Suisun City Amtrak station, the Fairfield Transportation Center, and to the Pittsburgh/Bay Point BART station.
  • Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor is a wonderful commute resource between Auburn and San Jose. There’s an Amtrak station in downtown Davis, Vacaville (Fairfield-Vacaville Hannigan Station) and in Suisun City (Suisun-Fairfield Station). The Suisun-Fairfield Station is accessible by bus via the Fairfield Transportation Center. Capitol Corridor includes stops in Richmond (BART connection), Berkeley, Emeryville (San Francisco motorcoach connection) and Oakland.
