The Funding Agricultural Replacement Measures for Emission Reductions (FARMER) Program provides funding for agricultural harvesting equipment, tractors, and other equipment used in agricultural operations. FARMER is supported in part by California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work. The FARMER Program is implemented as a partnership between the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and local air districts.
Since 2018, YSAQMD has managed the local FARMER Program and provided funding for the replacement of 26 tractors. The local program was updated in 2021, with changes included in the YSAQMD FARMER Policies and Procedures Manual below. Applicants are limited to 2 projects or pieces of equipment per solicitation. Eligible projects will be selected for awards by random draw. There is $1.39 million in funding for the 2023 FARMER Program.
The application period for the 2023 FARMER Program is currently open and
applications are due Friday, May 19th, 2023, at 4:00 pm.
